Aegis Run is a free Dota 2 fantasy draft game. There's no roster to build from scratch and no meta to keep up with — instead, the reel spins to a real team from The International Dota history, and you draft one player off that roster each round. Build a five-stack out of pros who may have never actually played together, then run the gauntlet to see if they can lift the Aegis.
Five rounds, one player drafted per round. Every player carries five stats — Laning, Farming, Teamfight, Vision, Clutch — and slotting someone off their natural position costs a penalty across the board, so a clean draft matters as much as raw stats. Once your five is set, you run an 18-game Bo1 group stage (win at least 9 or you don't make the bracket), then an upper-bracket-only playoff in Bo3s finishing with a Bo5 Grand Final. There's no lower bracket: drop a series and the run is over. Go 27–0 and it's the Immaculate Sweep.
Buyback lets you erase one group-stage loss (it doesn't reach into the playoffs). Classic Hardcore hides every stat during the draft, so you're picking on reputation and position alone, the way you'd remember a roster rather than read it off a card.
The Daily Challenge is the same ruleset for everyone, for that one day, built from a few independent modifiers: which teams are in the pool (a single year or region spotlighted, or every TI-winning roster buffed to their peak), how hard the bracket hits, whether buybacks are off the table, and how long the Grand Final runs. It never limits how many times you can play. It just changes the rules everyone's playing under that day.
Every organization, roster, and era in the game reflects real Dota 2 history, sourced from public match records and team pages. Overall ratings and category breakdowns are our own approximation of how a roster played in its era, not an official stat — reasonable people can disagree about exactly how good a given lineup was, and the data keeps getting refined. If something looks off, that's useful to know.
